10 Ways Coconut Oil Can Benefit Your Hair by Maya Allen

You might’ve guessed by my slangy nonchalance that I’m not an actual hair queen? Not caring can do that, however, my hair is made of straw, so two things I uncovered recently: (1) don’t comb your hair when it’s wet since that’s when it’s most fragile and (2) coconut oil.

It can be used as detangler, lice treatment, beard oil etc, but there are too many words in all those articles, so here are the basics on a mask:

• Get virgin/unrefined coconut oil for the nutrients. Don’t need fancy products; just get a jar from your grocery store.

• Put a coin-sized amount of oil or natural solid into your palm, then rub it to warm it up.

• If you have a lot of hair, divide it into sections. Starting then at the ends (usually the most damaged), rub oil into your hair and move towards the scalp. Add more oil if needed, but less is more!

• Tuck your oiled hair into a showercap and leave for a few hours or overnight. Shower when you’re done~

One More Thing

Just went to San Diego and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The Airbnb was a five-min walk from Little Italy. I am definitely in a swing chair.
