Más flores para ti. 7YL Theme Media “I Fail Almost Every Day”: An Interview with Samin Nosrat by Helen Rosner If you’ve seen Salt Fat Acid Heat, you know that Samin’s laugh is her gift to humanity: an ebullient wheeze then burst, a uniting surplus of glee. I listened to maybe six interviews of Samin and was taken aback to hear that she has had depression for decades, and to this day. She takes meds, goes to therapy, catches her breath, the whole shebang. There are a few ways to look at this, but today, I see that you can feel deeply, frankly low, and still have enough joy to be generous and brilliant. If Samin didn’t care of her difficulties like she has been, who knows if she would’ve had the space to make the book, show, podcast, appearances etc. She should get to laugh as much as we do. Cutting Room Concept Sometimes I think of youth as a synonym for stupidity. It’s not; that’s just a cheap, worn lens. All my favorite adults were 20 and 13 once, and I’ve been blessed with 20-year-olds this year like my activist artist cousin and international sister.
